Position responsible for assisting with the protecting, securing and promoting safety and security at a Memorial Hermann Hospital campus. The Security Officer monitors assigned areas to ensure maximum visibility of the security presence, patrols assigned areas by vehicle or on foot, and ensures the security of all designated areas and access points. They control vehicular access to buildings and parking areas, identify and report fire and safety hazards, suspicious activities, or breaches of security, and control access to areas and materials by administering and enforcing visitor and materials pass programs. The role requires a complete understanding of hospital, building management, and departmental policies and procedures, and compliance with post orders. The Security Officer responds to all security and emergency situations, assists patients, visitors, and staff, and completes required security reports and activity logs. They are responsible for the safe care of patients, staff, and visitors, and promoting individual professional growth and development.
