As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Unarmed Patrol Communication in New York, NY, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.

Requirements

  • Possess a New York State Security Guard License.
  • Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to residents, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government shelter location.
  • Respond to incidents, resident concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate site personnel and emergency services as directed.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned interior and exterior areas, including entrances, common spaces, and perimeter areas, to help deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
  • Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with site procedures; assist with maintaining an orderly environment and document incidents, observations, and patrol activity.
  • Communicate professionally with residents, staff, law enforcement, and emergency responders while following Allied Universal and site-specific reporting procedures.
