About The Position

As a Security Officer Full Time Temporary Shelter in Jamaica, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Shelters. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a shelter location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and support a welcoming environment for residents, visitors, and staff. You will provide exceptional customer service, communicate clearly, and respond professionally to concerns. Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to residents, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the shelter location, including common areas, entrances, exits, perimeter, and exterior grounds, to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points, verify authorized entry in accordance with site procedures, and document visitor, resident, and incident information as required.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, and notify appropriate site contacts and/or emergency responders when needed.
• Prepare accurate daily activity reports and incident reports, and communicate observations, concerns, and policy violations to Allied Universal leadership and site management.
