About The Position

Baptist Health is seeking a Security Officer to join their Protective Services Department at Baptist Medical Center Downtown. This is a full-time, day shift opportunity with hours from 6:00 AM to 6:15 PM. The role requires rotating weekdays and weekends. The primary function is to ensure the safety and security of patients, visitors, and employees by patrolling and monitoring the medical center properties. The team is implementing new technologies like metal detectors to enhance patient safety and experience.

Requirements

• 1-2 years Law Enforcement Experience
• 1-2 years Security Officer Experience
• High School Diploma or GED Required
• Driver's License Required
• Positions designated as requiring a level II Background (A detailed fingerprint-based screening for positions of trust that check state (FDLE) and national (FBI) criminal history) will undergo screening as a condition of employment and continued employment.

• 1-2 years Law Enforcement Experience Preferred

• Associate of Science Preferred

Responsibilities

• Reporting any unusual circumstances, and take appropriate corrective actions
• Insuring the protection of individuals from harm by monitoring for safety hazards
• Providing escort services
• Respond to unsafe situations
• Enforce hospital parking regulations
• Assist individuals with obtaining help for vehicle problems
