About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a Security Professional Branch Flex Officer to serve and safeguard clients across a range of industries. The Security Officer Flex Unarmed Patrol will work at distribution sites in Portland, Oregon, gaining experience across varied sites and assignments.

The role offers 30–40 hours per week. Schedules vary week to week, combining manager-assigned shifts with shifts selected through the Earn More, Claim-A-Shift self-scheduling program. Shifts, days, locations, and assignments change regularly, and officers may be assigned irregular shifts with little to no advance notice to support client needs. The role requires availability for varying shifts, including holidays, nights, and weekends, and for last-minute scheduling.

Requirements

• Be available to work varying shifts, including holidays, nights, and weekends.
• Have reliable transportation.
• Be available for last-minute shift scheduling.
• Be able to travel the required distance.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Submit to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
• Submit to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet any licensing requirements imposed by state or local laws and regulations before employment, where required.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to speak, read, and write in multiple languages, such as Spanish, Portuguese, French, or Arabic.
• Prior security, military, or law enforcement experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in a vehicle.
• Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards.
• Sound alarms or call the police or fire department in case of fire or the presence of unauthorized persons.
• Warn violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles.
• Permit authorized persons to enter property and monitor entrances and exits.
• Observe departing personnel to protect against theft of company property and ensure authorized property removal complies with client requirements.
• Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities, and maintain written logs as required by the post.
• Aid customers, employees, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
• Make emergency notifications as necessary pursuant to site Post Orders.
