About The Position

Provide for the safety of all individuals frequenting Coastal Carolina Community College, maintaining security and fire protection for facilities and capital equipment and assets on campus, and preparing security related reports. Direct traffic as needed, reserve parking spaces for various meetings, and write tickets as appropriate. Assist in emergencies when needed, participate in the security of college-related events, assist with the making of an arrest, when appropriate, and appear in court to testify in reference to that arrest. Conduct investigations on vehicle accidents, missing property, theft, vandalism, breaking and entering and larceny; prepare necessary reports and coordinate with local authorities as appropriate. Participate in surveillance as assigned. Lock and unlock buildings, classrooms, and offices on campus in support of college activities. Collect and deliver bank deposits and use two-way radios. Perform security services after regularly scheduled hours, as needed. Relate well to students, co-workers, and general public.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license
  • CPR/First Responder Certification or willingness to obtain within three (3) months

Nice To Haves

  • Six (6) months experience in security or law enforcement
