About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a Security Officer Flex Travel Ready Patrol in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. The officer will safeguard clients across a variety of industries and work at changing sites, locations, and assignments. The position offers 30–40 hours per week at $18.29 per hour. Schedules vary week to week through a combination of manager-assigned shifts and shifts claimed through the Earn More, Claim-A-Shift self-scheduling program. Officers must be prepared for irregular shifts and last-minute schedule changes with little to no advance notice, including work on evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays. Reliable transportation and the ability to commute to assigned locations are required.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles or 21 years old or older for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Be available to work varying shifts, including holidays, nights, and weekends.
• Be available for last-minute shift scheduling and adjust availability with minimal notice.
• Have reliable transportation and be able to travel the required distance to assigned locations.
• Undergo a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
• Undergo a drug screen as a condition of employment to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet any state or local licensing requirements that apply before employment.
• Have a valid driver’s license if assigned to a driving position.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to speak, read, and write in multiple languages, such as Spanish, Portuguese, French, or Arabic.
• Prior security, military, or law enforcement experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in a vehicle.
• Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards.
• Sound alarms or contact police or the fire department in case of fire or unauthorized persons.
• Warn violators about rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles.
• Permit authorized persons to enter the property and monitor entrances and exits.
• Observe departing personnel to protect against theft of company property and ensure authorized removal of property follows client requirements.
• Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities, and maintain written logs as required by the post.
• Assist customers, employees, and visitors courteously and professionally.
• Make emergency notifications as necessary under site Post Orders.
