As a Security Officer Visitor Checkpoint in New Albany, IN, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more. Requirements

  • Client requires proof of high school diploma or GED.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to employees, contractors, visitors, and/or vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a utilities location.
  • Monitor access points and help to control entry and exit activity by verifying credentials, issuing visitor access, maintaining logs, and communicating access-related concerns to site contacts and/or supervisors.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and supporting site response protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the business, perimeter, and restricted areas to help to identify unusual activity, access control issues, and/or conditions that may require follow-up.
  • Support security-related operations by observing camera systems and/or alarm activity, reporting maintenance or access concerns, and providing clear information to staff, visitors, and response personnel.
