Requirements

• Have at least 2 years of security-related experience.
• Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, staff, visitors, and/or faculty by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Staff the front desk and monitor access to the location by greeting visitors, checking identification and/or credentials, maintaining visitor logs, and reporting unusual activity.
• Respond to incidents, questions, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner while communicating with campus contacts, supervisors, and/or first responders as needed.
• Answer phones, provide directions, assist with sign-in processes, and support front desk operations in a professional and courteous manner.
• Monitor cameras, alarms, and/or entry points from the front desk and document security-related concerns, incidents, and daily activity in required reports.
