About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Access Control Officer for a manufacturing and industrial location in Columbus, Mississippi. In this driving post, the officer manages site access, verifies credentials, conducts routine patrols, maintains a visible presence to help deter incidents, and provides customer service and communication. The role involves working with employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel while following site-specific procedures, policies, and emergency response activities. The schedule is Thursday from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM and Sunday from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM. Pay is $16.00 per hour.

Requirements

A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements for driving positions.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles or 21 or older for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Applicants are subject to a background investigation as a condition of employment.
Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements may apply under state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required before employment.

Nice To Haves

Ability to lift up to 20 lbs is preferred.
Access Control/Badge Experience is preferred.
Customer Service Experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel while carrying out site-specific procedures, policies, and emergency response activities.
Monitor access points and verify authorization for entry to manufacturing and industrial areas in accordance with site requirements.
Maintain accurate visitor, contractor, and vehicle access records; issue and recover access credentials as directed.
Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations calmly, escalating concerns through established reporting channels.
Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned access points, business areas, and perimeter locations to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
