About The Position

The primary purpose of this position is to maintain a safe and secure Resort. This role involves driving a company vehicle and requires a valid driver's license. Responsibilities include identifying and reporting unsafe conditions, responding to and investigating incidents, conducting patrols, controlling access, and managing lost and found items. The position also requires strong PC skills, the ability to write detailed reports, and proficiency with communication devices like telephones and two-way radios. The Security Officer must be able to work varied shifts, including days, evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • A minimum of 1 year previous law enforcement, security, emergency services or military experience required or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) and annual MVRs, according to company guidelines.
  • Solid PC skills, including Microsoft Office applications and internet savvy.
  • Ability to read and follow maps and directions.
  • Must be able to work varied and/or extended shifts, including days, evenings, overnights, weekends and holidays.

Nice To Haves

  • Background in hospitality or customer service environment preferred.
  • Knowledge and ability to use CCTV systems resort-wide and familiarity with alarm systems and keyless entry systems preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe and secure Resort.
  • Drive a company vehicle and/or company insured vehicle, following safe driving practices and obeying traffic laws.
  • Identify, fix, or report any unsafe conditions or equipment.
  • Respond to incidents/accidents on property and conduct thorough investigations.
  • Effectively and clearly interview individuals, gather and document statements as needed in an investigation.
  • Write and distribute detailed reports using standard department format.
  • Conduct vehicular and/or foot patrol of all resort properties as directed.
  • Control access to property.
  • Issue keys to Employees and maintain key logs.
  • Accountable for use and care of all issued equipment.
  • Escort Employees, guests, and members to parking lots as requested.
  • Inspect fire and other safety equipment.
  • Learn and work the resort fire alarm and burglar alarm systems.
  • Handle lost and found items (including, logging, storing, releasing, and shipping).
  • Respond to guest calls and inquiries of lost or forgotten property.
  • Use telephone and two-way radio to receive and dispatch calls.
  • Maintain daily shift logs, vehicle logs, equipment inventory logs completely and accurately.
  • Direct traffic as requested.
  • Distribute paychecks.
