As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Patrol Navigator in Washington, DC, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you. This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Requirements

• Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred and may be completed post hire.
• The ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and vendors by carrying out site-specific procedures, access control activities, and other security-related protocols at the location.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate details to site contacts and/or emergency personnel when appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout offices, common areas, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify unusual conditions.
• Monitor entry and exit activity, verify credentials when required, and document observations, incidents, and/or policy violations in accordance with site expectations.
• Support emergency response activities by following post orders, assisting with evacuations and/or restricted access procedures, and reporting concerns to the appropriate contacts.
