About The Position

The Security Officer for ParkX Management helps ensure that the facility operates safely, smoothly, and cleanly and provides a positive experience for residents, tenants, and guests. The role includes property patrols, access control, safety observation and reporting, enforcement of property rules, guest communication, and coordination with property management. At Reston and Loudoun Station, the officer assists the Marketing team with events as needed. At Reston Station, the officer also manages valet and plaza traffic and helps ensure special-event marketing plans are followed.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• Security officer certification from the state of Virginia.
• At least one year of experience in a customer-service-related field.
• Valid driver's license without major violations.
• Flexibility to work after hours and weekends as needed.
• Outgoing personality and ability to relate to diverse groups and build and maintain strong relationships.

Responsibilities

• Complete hourly patrols of the property using the security system.
• Control access for guests, tenants, and vendors.
• Ensure property is not damaged and conduct routine foot patrols in and around the building.
• Observe and report safety issues and other concerns to management.
• Issue banning notices to rule violators, maintain the related files, and notify management when necessary.
• Maintain the appearance of the two plaza kiosks.
• Enforce the no-dogs-on-the-plaza policy.
• Keep information such as Kiss N Ride details, contact phone numbers, and rules of conduct up to date, and communicate it to guests as needed.
• Report unknown work taking place at the property to management.
• Immediately notify ParkX, Commercial property management, and Residential property management when anyone parks illegally on the plaza.
• Tell guests that fire access areas must remain accessible for fire trucks and ambulances.
• Close loading dock doors as needed.
• Assist the Marketing team before, during, and after events at Reston and Loudoun Station as needed.
• At Reston Station, manage valet and ensure cars are not parked on the plaza or down ramp.
• At Reston Station, ensure the plaza marketing plan is followed for special events.
• At Reston Station, manage traffic entering the plaza and keep it moving.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
