About The Position

We are looking to hire a full-time security officer in Schenectady, NY. The position is Tuesday through Saturday from 1500-2300 (3:00pm-11:00pm) for a total of 40 hours a week, with a pay rate of $18.00 an hour. We are looking for a reliable and proactive Security Officer to ensure the safety and security of our premises and residents. This role involves providing excellent customer service, monitoring security systems, and addressing security concerns promptly. The Security Officer position helps maintain a safe and secure environment for our clients by actively monitoring the premises, including patrolling a variety of locations. They preserve order while enforcing regulations and directives for a client site pertaining to personnel, visitors, and the area. Frequently our Security Officers will provide customer service and information to a client’s employees and customers.

Requirements

• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Comfort with basic technology, including CCTV and reporting tools.
• Dependable, punctual, and professional.
• Ability to stay calm and respond appropriately in emergencies.
• High School Diploma or Equivalency required

Nice To Haves

• Previous security experience is a plus, but not required—we’ll train you.
• If you have retail, food service or hospitality industry background you are a great fit for this role; if not, we will provide you with the training and everything you need for a great introduction to a career in the security industry.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular walking patrols to ensure safety and identify any unusual activity.
• Monitor CCTV and other surveillance equipment.
• Complete clear and accurate daily activity logs and incident reports.
• Interact professionally with residents, visitors, and site staff.
• Follow established protocols and contact emergency services when needed.
