As a Security Officer Full Time Unarmed Patrol Access Support in Newport News, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial, and more. As an Unarmed Security Officer at a manufacturing and industrial location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, support access control activities, and provide outstanding customer service. You will communicate clearly with employees and visitors while supporting a caring, reliable team that acts with integrity and embraces innovative solutions.

Requirements

At least one year of security-related experience is required.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
Customer service experience is preferred.
A guard card or license is preferred.
Access control and badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and/or delivery personnel by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-control practices, and emergency response activities at a manufacturing and industrial location.
Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of production areas, repair and fabrication workspaces, yards, parking areas, access points, and the perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
Monitor entrances, exits, gates, and visitor activity; verify authorization in accordance with site procedures and maintain accurate visitor, vehicle, and incident documentation.
Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate site contacts and emergency responders as directed.
Observe and report hazardous conditions, damaged property, suspicious activity, and policy violations to site management and Allied Universal leadership.
