About The Position

This position is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for employees, visitors, and company assets by monitoring security systems, responding to incidents, and enforcing company security policies and procedures. As a Security Officer, you will play a critical role in protecting people, property, and operations by monitoring security systems, responding to emergencies, controlling facility access, and ensuring compliance with site security requirements. Your vigilance and professionalism will help maintain a safe and secure workplace environment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Up to 2 years of related security, law enforcement, military, or customer service experience preferred.
  • Ability to effectively respond to emergency situations and security incidents.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to prepare accurate reports and maintain detailed records.
  • Proficiency with computer systems and security monitoring equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and situational awareness.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Florida Class D Security License required at time of hire.
  • Valid Florida Driver's License required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with access control and video surveillance systems preferred.
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and respond to security alarms, emergency situations, and facility incidents.
  • Coordinate responses to emergency alarms including fire, panic, chemical room, support equipment, medical, and other emergencies.
  • Direct emergency personnel and vehicles to incident locations as required.
  • Create complete and accurate incident reports and distribute them according to established procedures.
  • Maintain security records, logs, filing systems, and documentation in both electronic and hardcopy formats.
  • Administer key control procedures and report any discrepancies or losses to management.
  • Answer incoming calls and direct inquiries to the appropriate personnel.
  • Operate and program video surveillance and access control systems.
  • Create employee and visitor access badges and assign access levels as authorized.
  • Maintain required inspections, logs, and other security documentation.
  • Respond to employee requests received at the security desk or through electronic communications.
  • Monitor facility parking areas for unauthorized, improperly parked, or abandoned vehicles.
  • Conduct routine security patrols and facility tours as outlined in established procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with all company security policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Adhere to all environmental, health, safety, and security requirements associated with the position.
  • Support additional security and administrative duties as assigned.
