As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Armed Coverage in New York, NY, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.

Requirements

• Possess at least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• A valid firearms permit is preferred.
• Loss prevention experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to staff and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or appropriate emergency response activities at a government office location.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and reporting security-related concerns through proper channels.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout the facility, entrances, restricted areas, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or suspicious behavior.
• Monitor access points and verify credentials, authorizations, and/or deliveries in accordance with site policies while maintaining a professional presence.
• Support public-facing operations by assisting with directional inquiries, observing for unusual activity, and coordinating with site contacts and/or first responders when needed.
