As an unarmed Security Officer at a shelter location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and support a welcoming environment for residents, visitors, and staff. Requirements

Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred.
Have customer service experience, preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and/or contractors while carrying out site-specific security-related procedures and policies.
Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the facility, entrances, common areas, and perimeter to help identify unusual activity and report concerns.
Respond to incidents, emergencies, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; contact appropriate personnel and/or emergency services as directed.
Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with site procedures, maintaining a professional presence that helps to deter unauthorized entry.
Prepare clear, accurate reports and communicate observations, incidents, and security-related concerns to Allied Universal leadership and site management.
