Requirements

  • Have 1 or more years of security-related experience.
  • Meet hospital vaccination requirements.
  • Be able to work in a hospital environment that may include a morgue.
  • Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be able to restrain individuals in a hospital environment, as required.
  • Have 2 or more years of service in a healthcare or medical-related field.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and/or vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, and communicate relevant details to site contacts and/or first responders as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random foot patrols throughout buildings, parking areas, entrances, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
  • Monitor access points and help to control entry and exit activity in accordance with site procedures, including directing visitors and/or staff to the appropriate location.
  • Document incidents, observations, and/or daily activities in required reports, and support Allied Universal and site personnel with requested security-related information.
