The Security Services Department is responsible for identifying hazards and risks to the safety and security of patients, visitors, and staff at Southern Virginia Mental Health Institute (SVMHI). This role involves developing, implementing, and monitoring programs to mitigate these hazards. The department manages the daily operations to ensure the safety and security of everyone on the premises. Key duties include monitoring facility entrances and grounds to ensure compliance with policies, maintaining a secure environment, preventing contraband from entering the facility, and minimizing patient elopement risks. Additionally, this position will act as a DI-201 facility investigator, conducting unbiased investigations into alleged abuse, neglect, or exploitation of clients when assigned by the Facility Director.
