As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Patrol Driver in Tamarac, FL, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you. This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
  • Hospital vaccination requirements must be met.
  • Must be willing to work in a hospital environment that may include a morgue.
  • Must be able to restrain individuals in a hospital setting.
  • Proof of high school diploma or GED is required by the client.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • At least 2 years of service in a healthcare and/or medical-related field is required.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to staff, patients, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and/or appropriate emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner while documenting observations and reporting concerns to site leadership.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the healthcare location, including hallways, waiting areas, parking areas, and perimeter access points, noting unusual activity and/or unsecured areas.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and public areas to help to deter unauthorized access, assist with visitor direction, and support orderly movement throughout the location.
  • Assist with de-escalation support, access control activities, and communication with staff and/or first responders during medical, behavioral, and other security-related events.
