Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, tenants, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and/or appropriate emergency response activities in a retail environment.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, and report relevant details to site contacts and/or Allied Universal leadership.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout storefront areas, common spaces, parking areas, and the perimeter to help identify unusual activity and/or potential concerns.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and high-traffic areas to help support authorized access, observe customer and employee activity, and document security-related issues as needed.
  • Assist with de-escalation, provide directions and general assistance, and communicate clearly with the public, store personnel, and/or emergency responders during routine operations and incidents.
