About The Position

Commissionaires BC is looking for a Security Officer to work at a correction center in Chilliwack. This is a full-time position with a rotation of 4 days on and 4 days off, with shifts from 13:30 to 21:30 and 21:30 to 05:30. The pay rate is $27.50 per hour. Commissionaires BC is a Canadian, not-for-profit security/enforcement organization established in 1927, dedicated to giving back to those who have served. They are the leading supplier of security services for the federal government, providing high-level security services from access control to 24/7 control room operations.

Requirements

Basic Security License
Basic First Aid (OFA 1) or willing to obtain one
Have been residing in Canada for a minimum of 5 years for clearance purposes
Reliable transportation to and from the Chilliwack site
Physically fit and assertive, including the ability to conduct extensive foot patrols
Fluent English written, verbal and reading skills

Responsibilities

Performing interior patrols and conducting daily resident counts
Maintaining official visitor and resident logs, count sheets, and resident sign-in/out sheets
Writing clear and concise daily logs and reports of all incidents
Enforcing and maintaining resident curfews
Proactively responding to and resolving emergency situations and conflicts
Provide first aid in a prompt, accessible, and appropriate manner
Effectively communicating problems or concerns to the Site Supervisor
Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of site duties and safety standards
