As a Security Officer - Hospital Patrol - Flex in Aventura, FL, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you. This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Requirements

  • Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Meet hospital vaccine requirements.
  • Be able to work in a hospital environment that includes a morgue.
  • Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be able to restrain individuals in a hospital setting.
  • Have at least 2 years of service in a healthcare or medical-related field.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to staff, patients, and visitors by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-related practices, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and urgent situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, and report security-related concerns according to site protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the location, including buildings, hallways, parking areas, and perimeter points, noting unusual activity and/or conditions that may need attention.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and common areas to help to deter unauthorized access, support visitor management practices, and assist with direction and information requests.
  • Document daily activities, observations, and incident details, and communicate with site contacts and/or Allied Universal leadership regarding security-related matters.
