About The Position

This Security Officer position is responsible for the protection, safeguarding, and security of patients, employees, and visitors, as well as the assets of the organization.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Must be able to pass certification course in firearms within 3 months of hire.
  • Attend, complete and/or certify on training required by the BRHC Director of Security or BRHC Leadership.
  • BLS required.
  • Active/current driver’s license.
  • 2+ years’ experience in law enforcement, security or the military strongly encouraged.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Demonstrates support for organizational and departmental mission.
  • Supports and demonstrates knowledge of the Strategic Plan and the Hospital Key Initiatives.
  • Fosters and promotes teamwork within department and the organization as a whole.
  • Works to resolves conflicts constructively and in a timely manner.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and simply with every customer and co-worker.
  • Ability to display a positive, courteous and friendly attitude toward all contacts.

Responsibilities

  • Secures the premises by patrolling property, monitoring surveillance equipment, inspecting buildings and access points.
  • Prevents losses and damage by reporting irregularities and restraining trespassers.
  • Investigates and writes reports on accidents, incidents, suspicious activities, safety and fire hazards, and other security related situations.
  • Provides needed assistance to patients, employees, and visitors following department procedures.
  • Immediately responds to emergencies to secure the area and provide necessary assistance.
  • Works efficiently under pressure in an empathetic, positive, and professional manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
