As a Security Officer Weekend Museum Patrol in Los Angeles, CA, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you. This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.

Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
Customer service experience is preferred.
A guard card or license is preferred.
Alarm panel experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or appropriate emergency response activities at a public-facing location.
Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate relevant details to site contacts and/or public authorities when needed.
Conduct regular and random patrols throughout galleries, public areas, staff spaces, entrances, and the surrounding perimeter to help identify unusual activity and/or policy concerns.
Monitor access points, observe visitor and staff activity, and report suspicious behavior, hazards, and/or maintenance issues according to site protocols.
Support crowd management, visitor assistance, and orderly operations during daily activity, special events, and/or high-traffic periods while maintaining a professional presence.
