About The Position

Marksman Security is seeking Security Officers for a Logistics Facility in an auxiliary role. As an auxiliary officer, you will be expected to be adaptable and ready to cover shifts, provide temporary security coverage, or fill in for other officers when needed. Security Officers deter criminal activity, protect property, and enforce rules. Some monitor surveillance cameras and alarms, while others patrol areas and conduct security checks. In logistics facilities, they protect equipment and workers, and verify credentials of vehicles and individuals entering and exiting the premises.

Requirements

  • At least 18 years of age or older.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid State BSIS California Guard Card.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Familiarity with report writing.
  • Computer skills are a must.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Monitoring and surveillance experience.
  • Essential Computer Competencies.
  • Must be able to multitask and prioritize assigned tasks.
  • Comfortable with Outdoor Environment in Diverse Weather Conditions.
  • Must successfully pass Pre-Employment background check.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in security or customer service fields.
  • Security Guard Experience Preferred, Not Required!

Responsibilities

  • Remain alert at all times, observe surroundings for suspicious activity, potential threats, or disorderly conduct.
  • Ensure all employees, contractors, and visitors' badges are visible at all times.
  • Acknowledge unusual activities and investigate further or report to appropriate personnel.
  • Monitor access points and check badges or identification to ensure only authorized individuals enter appropriate buildings.
  • Verify and document all incoming and outgoing trucks, trailers, and other vehicles.
  • Check driver identification, shipping manifests, bills of lading, and load documentation.
  • Ensure only authorized vehicles and personnel enter or exit the facility.
  • Issue and collect visitor/driver badges and maintain sign-in/out logs.
  • Act as a visible deterrent against criminal activity.
  • Conduct patrols on all platforms, parking lots, and other areas to prevent theft, vandalism, or other crimes.
  • Take swift action in case of emergencies (medical incidents, accidents, fires, etc.).
  • Assist with evacuations, provide first aid, or call for help.
  • Maintain detailed records of incidents, disturbances, or any unusual occurrences.
  • Interact with employees, visitors, and contractors, providing assistance and information.
  • Provide excellent customer service, which could include giving directions, opening doors, and greeting employees, visitors, and contractors.
