About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring an unarmed Security Officer in a flexible, part-time enhanced role. The position is assigned to a designated site and weekly shift that provides a reliable base schedule, with a required six-month commitment. The employee may claim additional shifts through the company scheduling platform and can build up to a full-time schedule of as many as 40 hours per week, with the option to scale back. The role is based in Gainesville, Florida, pays $18.00 per hour, and lists a Friday daytime shift from 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The officer supports security at a retail location through customer service, unarmed patrols, incident response, observation and reporting, access control, opening and closing procedures, and crowd management. Applicants are subject to background investigation and drug screening as permitted by law. Driving positions require a valid driver’s license, and licensing requirements may apply under state or local rules.

Requirements

• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions and must meet Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 years or older for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
• Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet applicable state and/or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.

Nice To Haves

• A state-, county-, or city-issued security license is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to shoppers, visitors, and store personnel by following site-specific security procedures, policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, customer concerns, and critical situations, escalating matters according to site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the retail location, including sales areas, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter locations.
• Observe and report suspicious activity, policy violations, hazards, and maintenance concerns to appropriate store personnel and/or Allied Universal supervision.
• Assist with access control, store opening and closing procedures, and crowd management during busy shopping periods or special events.
