As a Security Officer - Full Time - Afternoons in Cedar Rapids, IA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial, and more. As an Access Control Officer in a manufacturing and industrial location, you will help manage entry points, verify credentials, monitor access activity, and support a welcoming environment for employees and visitors. You will maintain a visible presence, conduct routine patrols, help deter security-related incidents, and deliver exceptional customer service. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients, visitors, contractors, and employees by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, access-control policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
  • Monitor and control access to the manufacturing and industrial location by verifying credentials, processing visitors and contractors, maintaining access records, and following established entry and exit procedures.
  • Respond to access-control concerns, alarms, incidents, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate site contacts and Allied Universal leadership as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned access points, production-adjacent areas, parking areas, and the facility perimeter to help identify and report unusual activity or security-related concerns.
  • Maintain accurate daily activity reports, visitor logs, incident documentation, and other required records in accordance with site-specific policies.
