About The Position

As a Hospital Security Officer, you will play a critical role in maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for patients, visitors, staff, and medical professionals. Working closely with the hospital’s security team and internal departments, you will provide a visible security presence, respond to incidents, and uphold all safety policies and procedures. This role is highly people-focused and requires strong communication, attention to detail, and the ability to remain calm and professional in fast-paced and high-pressure situations.

Requirements

  • Completed High School Diploma or GED
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain any applicable licenses or certifications
  • Required SORA guard card.
  • Strong vision abilities, including color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
  • Must be able to stand and/or walk for an entire work shift, move or lift objects up to 80 lbs., and help restrain or lift a person
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to meet Tarian's company driving guidelines if applicable (for Driving Roles).
  • Strong Interpersonal Skills: Friendly, approachable, and genuinely interested in helping others.
  • Excellent Communication: Ability to communicate clearly, professionally, and persuasively—both verbally and in writing.
  • Attention to Detail: Capable of handling detailed tasks accurately and efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and manage entry points, screening patients, visitors, staff, and vendors in accordance with hospital policies.
  • Conduct routine foot and vehicle patrols to identify safety concerns, security risks, or suspicious activity.
  • Respond promptly and appropriately to emergencies, including medical situations, fire alarms, and hazardous conditions.
  • Utilize de-escalation techniques to manage disruptive behavior and resolve conflicts professionally.
  • Observe and report criminal activity, policy violations, or safety hazards that may threaten people or property.
  • Complete accurate incident reports, logs, and daily activity reports to ensure clear communication and accountability.
  • Work closely with hospital staff, fellow officers, and supervisors to support a cohesive and secure environment.
