Requirements

  • At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
  • Hospital vaccines are required.
  • Ability to work in a hospital environment that includes morgue areas is required.
  • Ability to restrain individuals in a hospital environment is required.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to staff, patients, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or appropriate emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, and problem-solving manner, documenting observations and reporting security-related concerns to the appropriate personnel.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the location, including hallways, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter areas, helping to identify unusual activity and/or access concerns.
  • Monitor access points and visitor activity, helping to support authorized entry procedures and directing individuals to the proper department or point of contact as needed.
  • Assist with de-escalation support, general assistance requests, and other security-related duties as assigned, while maintaining a courteous presence in a patient-centered environment.
