In a career as a Security Officer, you are the backbone of Boys Town's success when it comes to ensuring the safety of our families, employees and property. This role involves providing safe and effective services, adhering to policies related to safety and boundaries, and attending safety and abuse risk management training. The Security Officer is responsible for monitoring and ensuring safety through regular patrols, checking for security violations, securing the property, and investigating incidents. They also communicate with the Police Department, investigate alarms, assist staff and guests during severe weather, execute evacuation plans, and provide routine security assistance. This position requires responding to emergency calls, confronting unauthorized personnel, completing security reports, and announcing emergency drills. The role also includes maintaining building access, greeting visitors, coordinating escorts, issuing keys and parking decals, performing receptionist duties, directing visitors, acting as a point-of-contact for building maintenance, and enforcing the 'Tobacco Free' Campus policy. Additionally, the Security Officer schedules and completes safety drills and performs general administrative and clerical duties.
