About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Armed Security Officer to patrol and help safeguard an aerospace and defense location in Troy, Alabama. The role includes maintaining a visible security presence, supporting access-control procedures, providing customer service, and communicating professionally with personnel, visitors, contractors, and site contacts. Officers conduct routine observations and report incidents while collaborating with site personnel. The listed schedule is Thursday from 4:30 AM to 4:30 PM and Friday from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Pay is $20.20 per hour.

Requirements

• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
• Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required before employment.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
• A valid firearms permit is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and contractors by following site-specific procedures, access-control requirements, and emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of facilities, restricted areas, parking areas, and perimeter locations to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials and authorization, document visitor and contractor activity, and report access-control concerns according to site procedures.
• Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, alarms, and critical situations, coordinating with site contacts and public emergency services as directed.
• Prepare accurate reports and maintain required documentation about patrols, incidents, observations, and security-related activities.
