About The Position

The Security Professional Branch Flex Officer serves and safeguards clients across a range of industries, including healthcare, education, finance, and retail. The role provides hands-on experience at a variety of sites and offers opportunities to build security skills and advance within the company. The officer works 30–40 hours per week on a schedule that varies from week to week, combining manager-assigned shifts with shifts selected through the Earn More, Claim-A-Shift program. Shifts, days, locations, and assignments change regularly, and irregular shifts may be assigned with little to no advance notice to meet client needs. The position is in Knoxville, Tennessee, and pays $16.59 per hour.

Requirements

• Must be available to work varying shifts, including holidays, nights, and weekends.
• Reliable transportation is required.
• Must be available for last-minute shift scheduling.
• Must be able to travel required distances.
• Must be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles or 21 or older for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable law.
• Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing may be required before employment, depending on state and local requirements.
• A valid driver's license is required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to speak, read, and write in multiple languages, such as Spanish, Portuguese, French, or Arabic.
• Prior security, military, or law enforcement experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in a vehicle.
• Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards.
• Sound alarms or call police or fire departments in cases of fire or unauthorized persons.
• Warn violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles.
• Permit authorized persons to enter property and monitor entrances and exits.
• Observe departing personnel to protect against theft of company property and ensure authorized removal of property follows client requirements.
• Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities, and maintain written logs as required by the post.
• Assist customers, employees, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
• Make emergency notifications as necessary under site Post Orders.
