Requirements

  • Have at least one year of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and vendors while carrying out access-control procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and restricted areas; verify credentials; manage visitor access; and direct individuals to appropriate hospital locations.
  • Respond to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established escalation procedures.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of facility areas, parking locations, and the perimeter, reporting security-related concerns to appropriate personnel.
  • Maintain accurate access-control, visitor, and incident documentation in accordance with site-specific procedures and applicable privacy requirements.
