About The Position

As a Security Officer in Sulphur, LA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a chemical and petrochemical location, you will help manage site entry, verify credentials, monitor access points, and support a professional, welcoming environment. You will use technology to document activity, communicate clearly with personnel and visitors, and help deter unauthorized access. This is a driving post. Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • Have at least 1 year of law enforcement experience, 2 years of security-related supervisor/manager experience, or 3 years of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • The ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
  • Comfortably using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and contractors by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, access requirements, and emergency response activities at a chemical and petrochemical location.
  • Monitor and control access to the facility by verifying credentials, issuing visitor and contractor passes, maintaining entry records, and directing authorized individuals in accordance with site policies.
  • Observe incoming and outgoing personnel, vehicles, materials, and deliveries for compliance with access-control procedures, escalating discrepancies or unauthorized access attempts to appropriate site contacts.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established reporting and emergency response protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, business areas, and the perimeter to identify and report security-related concerns, hazardous conditions, or policy violations.
