As an Unarmed Security Officer at a retail and mall location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and assist visitors, tenants, and staff with exceptional customer service. You will communicate clearly, respond to concerns, and support a welcoming environment while reflecting Allied Universal’s agile, reliable, innovative, caring, and integrity-driven culture.

How This Role Works:
Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.
This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, vendors, and property staff by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-control practices, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of commercial property buildings, parking areas, entrances, common areas, and perimeter locations to help identify and report unusual activity, maintenance concerns, and security-related issues.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; contact appropriate personnel and/or emergency services as directed by site procedures.
• Monitor access points and observe visitor, contractor, and delivery activity in accordance with property policies.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports and maintain activity logs for incidents, patrols, and security-related observations.
