As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Dispatch in Sterling, VA, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • CPR and/or First Aid experience is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and employees by carrying out site-specific procedures, access protocols, and emergency response activities within a technology-focused location.
  • Monitor cameras, alarms, radio traffic, and other security-related systems from a dispatch post, and communicate routine updates, requests for assistance, and incident information to on-site personnel and leadership.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, helping to coordinate the appropriate security-related response and/or escalation based on site procedures.
  • Maintain detailed activity logs, dispatch records, and incident reports, documenting calls for service, equipment issues, visitor concerns, and other security-related events.
  • Support regular and random patrol operations by dispatching personnel, tracking officer status, and communicating observations related to the business and perimeter as conditions vary by location.
