About The Position

BOS Security is hiring a part-time Security Officer for Gwinnett County Schools. The schedule is Saturdays and Sundays from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m., and all holidays. The officer must make hourly patrols, maintain strong professional customer service skills, and arrive on time in uniform and ready to work. The officer must be trained and qualified for the assigned post and understand its specific, general, additional, and emergency instructions.

Requirements

Strong customer service skills.
Stable work history.
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening test and background check; the position is subject to random drug testing.
Smartphone.
Valid driver's license.
Own working transportation; drop-offs and public transportation are not accepted.

Security, law enforcement, military, or other related experience and/or training.

Responsibilities

Make hourly patrols.
Work the assigned post and understand its specific, general, additional, and emergency post instructions.
Patrol buildings and grounds on foot.
Examine doors, windows, and gates to ensure they are secure.
Warn people of rule infractions and apprehend or expel people engaging in suspicious or criminal acts.
Inspect equipment and machinery for signs of tampering.
Watch for and report irregularities, including fire hazards, leaking water pipes, and unlocked security doors.
Observe departing personnel to guard against theft of client property.
Sound an alarm or contact police or the fire department in the event of fire or unauthorized persons.
Permit authorized people to enter the property.
Register at watch stations to record inspection-trip times.
Record property damage, unusual occurrences, and malfunctioning machinery or equipment for supervisory staff.
Regulate vehicle and pedestrian traffic at access points.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Arrive on time in uniform and ready to work, while providing professional customer service.
