As a Security Officer Part Time Patrol in Middletown, NY, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you. This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.
Requirements
- Possess at least 1 year of security-related experience.
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Nice To Haves
- Access control and badge experience is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to visitors, customers, and/or staff by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting relevant details and communicating with site contacts as needed.
- Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail location, sales floor, parking areas, entrances, loading areas, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity.
- Monitor for suspicious behavior, policy violations, and/or potential hazards, and report concerns to management and/or emergency services when appropriate.
- Support access control and after-hours closing procedures, including checking doors, gates, and restricted areas for security-related concerns.
