As a Security Officer - Full Time - 1st Shift in Cedar Rapids, IA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a manufacturing and industrial location, you will monitor entry points, verify credentials, manage visitor access, and conduct routine patrols to help maintain a secure environment. You will remain visible to help deter security-related incidents while delivering exceptional customer service and clear communication. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to employees, contractors, visitors, and/or delivery personnel at a manufacturing and industrial location by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, access control policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Monitor and control access to the location by verifying identification, credentials, visitor authorizations, and delivery documentation in accordance with site requirements.
  • Operate access control systems, issue and collect visitor badges or credentials, maintain visitor and contractor logs, and report access-related discrepancies to site leadership.
  • Respond to access-related incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established escalation procedures.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of entry points, production-adjacent areas, parking areas, and the perimeter to help deter unauthorized access and identify security-related concerns.
