As an Unarmed Patrol Officer in a shelter setting, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, support access control, and assist residents, visitors, and staff with professionalism and care. You will communicate clearly, respond to security-related concerns, and contribute to a welcoming environment through teamwork, integrity, and reliable service.

Requirements

  • At least one year of security-related experience is required.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and/or service providers by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities at a shelter setting.
  • Respond to incidents, resident concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, escalating matters according to site procedures.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of interior common areas, entrances, exits, surrounding grounds, and perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
  • Monitor access points, verify authorized entry as directed by site procedures, and report unauthorized persons, disturbances, hazards, and/or maintenance concerns.
  • Document observations, incidents, and patrol activities accurately and communicate relevant information to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision.
