As a Security Officer Full Time Unarmed Patrol First Aid Response in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Shelter, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer at a shelter location, you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and provide compassionate customer service to residents and visitors. You will communicate clearly, respond to concerns, and support a welcoming environment while demonstrating Allied Universal’s values of agility, reliability, innovation, teamwork, caring, and integrity.

Requirements

  • Possess a New York State Security Guard License.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • CPR/First Aid certification is preferred.
  • Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • CPR certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and/or service providers by carrying out site-specific procedures, policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of shelter common areas, entrances, exterior grounds, and perimeter to help identify and report unusual activity, hazards, and maintenance concerns.
  • Respond to incidents, resident concerns, and critical situations in a calm, respectful, problem-solving manner, following established reporting and escalation procedures.
  • Monitor access points and visitor activity, maintain awareness of authorized entry procedures, and help support an orderly environment for residents and staff.
  • Complete accurate activity logs, incident reports, and shift communications in accordance with Allied Universal and location requirements.
