Join Allied Universal in a healthcare location as an Access Control Officer, where you will monitor entry points, verify badges and credentials, and support a professional, welcoming experience for staff, patients, and visitors. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver's license. You will perform routine patrols, remain visible to help discourage security-related incidents, and bring agility, reliability, innovation, teamwork, and integrity to every shift.

Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • The ability to lift more than 20 lbs is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to staff, patients, visitors, and/or vendors by carrying out site-specific access control procedures, visitor processing, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials, issue visitor badges or passes, and help to deter unauthorized access in accordance with location policies and protocols.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting relevant details and communicating with site contacts and/or emergency personnel as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and perimeter, observing for unusual activity, unsecured access points, and other security-related concerns.
  • Support security-related operations within a healthcare location by assisting with direction, wayfinding, and access restrictions for sensitive or limited-access areas.
