The Security Professional Flex Officer may be called upon to work irregular shifts at times with little to no advance notice.

Requirements

  • Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Meet hospital vaccine requirements.
  • Be able to work in a hospital environment that includes a morgue.
  • Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be able to restrain individuals in a hospital setting.
  • Have at least 2 years of service in a healthcare/medical-related field.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or appropriate emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, and problem-solving manner while documenting relevant details and communicating with site contacts as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout buildings, common areas, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unwanted activity and identify unusual conditions.
  • Monitor access points, observe visitor and staff activity, and report suspicious behavior, policy violations, and/or maintenance concerns according to site guidelines.
  • Support daily operations by assisting with directions, answering general questions, and helping staff, patients, and visitors during routine and/or urgent situations.
