The primary responsibilities of the Security Officer are to conduct patrols within and outside the facility, respond immediately to emergency and non-emergency calls for assistance and document services provided for each shift. Other responsibilities include: Contribute to the preservation of life, protection of property and overall safety of the campus for employees, visitors, and patients Conducting thorough and fair investigations into any/all inappropriate activity Provide education and guidance (as needed) to staff, visitors and patients around reducing their likelihood of becoming victims of violence Ability and willingness to operate and monitor any employer supplied security equipment All Security staff must be available for short notice call-in, in the event of an emergency Maintain a high level of confidentiality for all patient PHI (Protected Health Information)
