The Security Officer is responsible for maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for patients, visitors, physicians, and staff throughout the hospital campus. Patrol hospital facilities, parking areas, and grounds to ensure the safety and security of patients, visitors, employees, and property. Provide security coverage at hospital entrances by monitoring access, screening visitors, and responding appropriately to security concerns. Deliver exceptional customer service by interacting professionally, respectfully, and compassionately with patients, families, visitors, and staff. Utilize effective verbal de-escalation techniques to safely manage disruptive, aggressive, or emotionally distressed individuals while supporting a therapeutic healthcare environment. Respond promptly to emergencies, fire alarms, security incidents, workplace violence events, and requests for assistance. Assist clinical staff in maintaining a safe environment for patient care while preserving patient dignity and confidentiality. Monitor Closed Circuit Television (CCTV), security alarms, and communication systems to identify and respond to potential safety concerns. Detain, question, and investigate individuals when appropriate and in accordance with hospital policies and applicable laws. Prepare accurate incident reports and maintain thorough documentation of security-related events. Perform indoor and outdoor patrols in all weather conditions and participate in emergency preparedness activities as required.
