Security Officer - Patrol Visitor Screening
About The Position
Allied Universal is hiring a full-time unarmed patrol security officer for a retail location in Bluffton, Indiana. The officer will help safeguard the site by monitoring assigned areas, conducting routine patrols, maintaining a visible presence, supporting access control, and providing customer service to customers, employees, and visitors. The role includes responding professionally to concerns and incidents, following site-specific procedures, and assisting with store opening and closing activities. The posted schedule is Monday, Tuesday, Saturday, and Sunday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The pay rate is $16.80 per hour. Applicants are subject to a background investigation and, to the extent permitted by law, a drug screen. Licensing may be required by state or local law. A valid driver’s license is required only for driving positions.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable law.
- Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
- Meet applicable state and/or local licensing requirements, if required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.
Nice To Haves
- Access control and badge experience is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to clients, customers, and store associates while carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, and appropriate emergency response activities.
- Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, customer concerns, and critical situations, using problem-solving skills.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the retail location, including sales floors, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter locations.
- Monitor for unusual activity, report observations and incidents according to site procedures, and help deter theft, trespassing, and disruptive conduct through a professional presence.
- Assist with access control and store opening and closing procedures.
- Coordinate with site contacts and/or emergency responders as needed.
