About The Position

Security Officer at Providence Seaside Hospital - Full-Time, Variable Schedule. Providence Seaside Hospital is located on the North Oregon Coast. The Security Officer receives general direction from the Security Manager, Supervisor or Lead Security Officer and performs a variety of security protective duties to protect patients, visitors, staff, physicians, property, and facilities from accidents, bodily harm, fire, theft, vandalism, and illegal entry. This role enforces PH&S, facility, and security policies and regulations. Responsibilities include investigating reports of potential criminal conduct, responding to and assisting in restraining patients, detaining individuals when necessary or at the direction of a police officer, and providing protective services to high-risk areas. Mobile positions will conduct vehicle and foot patrols, patient transports, site surveys, threat assessments, patient standbys, alarm/nuisance call response, special details, and assist in training of clinic personnel. May be required to support any Providence or affiliated organizations within the Oregon Region.

Requirements

• Upon hire: Oregon Private Security Armed/Unarmed Professional - Oregon Department of Public Safety Standards and Training, or Upon hire: Oregon Private Security Unarmed Professional - Oregon Department of Public Safety Standards and Training
• Upon hire: Private Security Temporary Work Permit PS-20
• Upon request: Driving may be necessary as part of this role. Caregivers are required to comply with all state laws and requirements for driving.
• Caregivers will be expected to provide proof of driver license and auto insurance upon request.
• 1 year of experience using personal computer with standard Microsoft applications.

Nice To Haves

• College level coursework in professionally related fields such as criminal justice, social work, psychology or any social science.
• H.S. Diploma or GED
• 1 year Security/law enforcement experience such as corrections, police, reserve and military police.
• Direct patient care experience in a healthcare industry.

Responsibilities
