About The Position

This position will work Saturday, Sunday and Monday nights from 6pm-630am. The Security Officer provides security services to VCUHS by courteously assisting staff, visitors and patients; enforcing rules and regulations of the hospitals; projecting a positive image; and promoting a safe healthcare environment. The Security Officer conveys an image of professionalism, behaving in a way that is conducive to good hospital and community relations. This is an unarmed, non-sworn security position.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Previous knowledge of security and/or law enforcement measures and techniques at a level generally acquired during 6 to 12 months of on-the-job training and orientation in such techniques or college curriculum in Administration of Justice
• Ability to work all shifts including weekends and holidays and extended hours based on schedule and organizational needs

Nice To Haves

• One (1) year of security, public safety or law enforcement work experience
• Associate Degree in Criminal Justice or related field
• Valid Virginia Driver’s License and acceptable driving record that reflects safe and lawful motor vehicle operation
